What’s new in March 2019 for PlayStation Plus members?

PlayStation announced the March offerings for Plus members. It’s much smaller than previous months, but still has a month’s worth of gaming

PlayStation Plus members are in for a smaller offering this month on their free games.

In case you missed the announcement, as of the end of February, Sony is only offering two free PS4 games. That means you no longer have access to PS3 and PS Vita free games, losing two-thirds of the offerings. I don’t know if that’s necessarily a deal-breaker for you and your subscription, but it’s definitely something to take into consideration.

All that said, they announced the free games for March: Call of Duty Modern Warfare: Remastered and The Witness.

Modern Warfare is a big one. When the original came out in 2007, it revolutionized first-person shooters and changed the online gaming experience. Every review gave it at least a 9/10 rating.

Remastered gives you the same game, just a whole lot prettier. And it’s not that the 2007 version wasn’t — it’s just that gaming technology seems to improve so quickly, it’s easy to return to a classic and give it an updated look. (I personally would play the heck out of a 4k version of Ocarina of Time.)

Definitely add this one to your gaming list this month, and get ready to be completely immersed in the game.

If you have yet to play The Witness, I advise you to take this opportunity to give it a shot. It’s an incredibly relaxing first-person puzzle game. The effects aren’t the snazziest, but the music and sound effects make the atmosphere of the game so much better. It’s like you’re in a constant state of relaxation.

The kinds of puzzles you encounter change as you move around the island so you don’t get too burned out on anything. But it’s more than just puzzles. As you go along, you slowly start to learn about the mysterious figures and the lost stories around the island.

Also, it can be infuriating to figure out some of the puzzles, so having a backup on the couch with you might not be a bad idea.

As for the sales that come with a PS Plus membership, Yakuza Kiwami 2 is 40 percent off and both Hollow Knight and Just Cause 4 are 50 percent off.

Both of these free games are solid offerings. PlayStation definitely needed to come out swinging after decreasing the available games. Let’s hope they stay this good going forward.
