Our obsession with teen dramas probably stem from the Harry Potter series
Do you think that we love shows like Riverdale and the Chilling Adventures of Sabrina because of our love we’ve always had for the Harry Potter series?
Watching Riverdale, it is hard not to see why we can connect it back to the Harry Potter series. A group of kids trying to figure out what is going on with outstanding circumstances? Sounds pretty familiar. But, if we look at the series we all love to watch on television now, they kind of go back to Harry Potter.
Look at Riverdale. There’s even a character named Hermione! But more than that, it is about the teens who are trying to save their town and do the right thing, much like Harry, Ron, and Hermione did in Harry Potter. That need to solve mysteries, to fix problems, we all crave it because we grew up reading about it in the Harry Potter series.
So, is that why we’re all so obsessed with the shows on the CW? Do we love seeing teens as detectives because that’s all we knew growing up and reading the Potter books? Maybe but that is just an extension of the world that Harry Potter gave us. Because we all loved those books and movies, we were able to find a genre of novels that we loved.
These stories enrapture us and maybe it is because of Harry Potter or maybe not. Either way, we love them.
