Harry Potter and Hermione Granger: Why shipping them isn’t that weird
Hermione Granger ended up with Ron Weasley and Harry Potter with Ginny, but what if Harry and Hermione had ended up together at the end of the series?
We know that Harry Potter didn’t end up married to his best friend, Hermione Granger, and that’s fine. Sure, we’re still a bit mad about it but it is fine because they are still in each other’s lives. But what if we had gotten our wish and the two had fallen in love like many of us thought would happen in the series?
If you’re like me, you read fanfiction growing up about Hermione Granger and Harry Potter falling in love with each other, running the wizarding world together. Instead, Hermione is Minister of Magic to Harry Potter’s head auror and they are still best friends.
Again, a fine development, but I can’t help but think about how cool it would have been to have them as the power couple, taking on the bad guys and running the Ministry of Magic together. Still, they kind of do that in their own way in Harry Potter and the Cursed Child but I can still look at them and think of what could have been and what would happen if they ended up together years down the line.
It doesn’t help that Rowling has talked about how they could have very easily ended up together either. Like sure, thanks for that but also now my shipper heart can’t stop thinking about Hermione Granger and Harry Potter in love!
