The Wizarding World production has seen nothing but success since it debuted on the West End. When it moved over to Broadway, it was one of the most talked about productions and won numerous amounts of awards. It is now scheduled to perform in San Fransico and Hamburg, Germany.
It is expected to be just as successful in Melbourne, Australia. When tickets first went on sale, 200,000 tickets were sold within days of the first being made available. With most weekend performances sold out right up until August this year.
So considering the past history of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child and the growing popularity in Australia already. While it might be unprecedented to offer tickets a whole year in advance, it makes perfect sense this time around.
