Fans are not happy about Netflix canceling The Punisher and Jessica Jones

Netflix has canceled all of its Marvel programming, and fans are very unhappy about this, to say the least. We’ve collected some of their reactions.

While it might not come as a huge surprise, it’s now official that Netflix has canceled all of its original Marvel shows. While series such as Daredevil, Iron Fist, and Luke Cage had already been pulled last year, the two remaining shows have now gotten the axe as well. Yesterday, Netflix announced that Jessica Jones and The Punisher were canceled, too.

While many are speculating that all of these cancellations are because of Disney’s own streaming service, Disney+, it still doesn’t take away from the ache that many fans are feeling. Many of the Netflix Marvel shows explored superheroes in more complex, mature ways than is seen in the MCU, and fans are sad to see these shows go.

Many fans have taken to Twitter to express their sadness in meme form. Because, of course, memes and humor can help to soften the blow a little bit.

There were many people who expressed feeling shocked and sadness, even though they knew this decision was likely coming. While some fans were still hanging onto hope that Netflix might at least continue with one or two Marvel shows, that dream is now gone and fans are upset about it.

Other fans took the time to appreciate the actors and creators of these series. Because even though they are sad they are ending, they are glad for the work that was put into them.

And, one person even hilariously noted that maybe with these shows gone, the actors can go back to other, more important, things.

While fans are expressing their reactions in different ways, overall, no one is happy about these decisions. Fans will just have to wait and see if any of these shows or characters are picked up again, but it’s hard to understand why all of these shows, especially successful ones like Jessica Jones and Daredevil, were canceled.
