Oh, the nostalgia. These are the most famous last lines of ’90s TV shows you know so well, but may have forgotten all about.

When we think back on some of our favorite shows, so much of what has become our TV tradition comes from the ’90s television line up. The further we get in time and space, the more we start to value those older shows. While some of us lived through the high-waisted jeans and thick platform flip-flops fads the first time around, some of us are just now experiencing these TV gems for the first time. Thank the heavens for streaming services. Am I right?

To honor what is arguably the real golden age of TV, I’ve gone back to reexamine how these faves left us, the first time. These famous last lines of ’90s TV shows will remind you why you loved them so much in the first place, and how badly it hurt when we had to say goodbye. Even though, for some of these, we don’t really have to say goodbye at all.

The first in the series, these last lines were about as close to perfect as you can get, leaving us with all the best memories, and forcing us to forget when our shows didn’t always do right by us. We will always remember the good times, of course, but it’s important we look back on how it ended, so we can really appreciate the arc of these shows, too. In fact, by remembering the last moments of these shows, we can honor their lives (some longer than others) and reminisce about the good ol’ days of television when you had to wait a week between episodes and watch commercials.

This list is, by no means, comprehensive, but it’s a fair start in a memorial to the (in my humble opinion) a decade that pretty much made TV what it is these days. We have to look back so we can figure out the way forward.
