Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald deleted scene shows why Grindelwald needs Credence

With Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald now out on Digital, fans are finally getting to see the deleted scenes. And one shows why Grindelwald needs Credence so much.

Wizarding World fans can finally watch Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald in the comfort of their home. With the movie now available on Digital, fans have finally been able to see some of the deleted scenes.

One of the deleted scenes is at the beginning of the movie and involves both Dumbledore and Newt. It is an extended conversation between the two and it explains why Grindelwald wants Credence so badly.

The extended conversation plays out the following way:

"Newt: So why did you send me to New York?Dumbledore: Because I knew Grindelwald would try to catch Credence. He had a vision, you see, many years ago, in which an Obscurial killed the man he fears above all others.Newt: You.Dumbledore: I thought you might deprive Grindelwald of his weapon, not by killing Credence but by saving him."

This deleted scene is another example of Grindelwald’s ability to prophecies what is to come. We saw this later on in Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, towards the end of the movie, when Grindelwald showed his followers what appears to be World War II.

How this might play out in the future for Fantastic Beasts will be interesting. We obviously know that Dumbledore is killed by Professor Snape and not by an Obscurial. However, it wouldn’t be surprising if there was a major twist or connection to the Obscurial and Snape killing Dumbledore. As in, despite the Obscurial not killing Dumbledore directly, it wouldn’t be a surprise if J.K. Rowling found a way to make to make the Obscurial kill him indirectly. It sounds crazy and very unlikely right now, but it is J.K. Rowling. So you never know.

We will have to wait and see how things play out over the course of the next Wizarding World movies to see what happens. The next one being Fantastic Beasts 3; which is not expected to be released until 2021.
