Zoey Johnson – Grown-ish

What we know: Zoey Johnson is the oldest of the five kids from the parent show Black-ish. Zoey was so hot all on her own, she garnered herself a spinoff, documenting her first years in college. Zoey is fun and daring, but she can also be awkwardly tragic, which is one of the things that make her so endearing. She’s all of us, once upon a time, figuring out how to date, make and keep friends, and balance all the new life-stuff one has to deal with in college.

What we see: Young, wild and free. Everything about this college sophomore’s style suggests that she likes to take chances with her looks. It’s flirty and sweet, but it’s also a little sexy in genuinely she puts it together.

Another thing that is totally iconic about Zoey’s look is her willingness to experiment with her hair. Like her TV mother (who I’ll get to later on this list), she plays around with all sorts of looks, varying it from week to week — from natural, to boxer braids, to sleek straight, to pairing her style with bold earrings. You never what Zoey you’re gonna get, and I like that the most.

How to take it all in: Grown-ish’s second season is currently airing on Freeform, so you should def check in to get all your spring fashion inspo. You can catch up on the first season on Hulu, and please check out Zoey’s glow up (and Yara Shahidi’s grow up) on Black-ish – also on Hulu.
