Tulip O’Hare – Preacher

What we know: The first thing you need to know about Tulip O’Hare is that you never, ever want to meet her in a dark alley if you’re on her bad side. The second thing is that if you are on her side, she is the absolute best choice to have in a dark alley. She goes hard, and as the only girl in the Preacher’s gang, she is the one to watch.

She and the male lead, Jesse, have been in an on again/off again relationship since they were children and they are ride or die, for real. These two, whether they are fighting divinely appointed assassins or trying to wrangle their vampire side kick, go hard. They fight bad guys, get in car chases, and fight the supernatural powers that are constantly trying to thwart their very existence.

What we see: Tough girl cool. She has to be ready for an intense car chase at any time, so her clothes are both wildly hip, but also practical. You can find her, lots of times, in a well-fitted leather jacket with a bright top that is cute and sexy, but also allows for a range of motion needed for all the hand-to-hand combat.

Even though she is about as tough as they come, she is unafraid to adopt feminine styles, including A-line dresses and flirty florals. Of course, a lot of times they’re paired with funky boots or eclectic sneakers, but she always looks good.

How to take it all in: I’ll admit, Preacher is definitely an acquired taste. Its humor can run a little dark and maybe a smidge blasphemous, but it’s clever, well-written, and will never lose you to your phone. You can watch the first two seasons on Hulu right now, and if you burn through those, you can probably catch season three on AMC’s website.
