Will Harry Potter and the Cursed Child become a movie?


The eighth chapter of Harry Potter has been told on the stage but will Harry Potter and the Cursed Child become a movie?

Harry Potter ended with The Deathly Hallows back in 2007. Or so we thought anyway. Harry Potter and the Cursed Child first appeared in 2016, becoming the eighth chapter about The Boy Who Lived. However, the story has only ever been told on the stage. Will Harry Potter and the Cursed Child become a movie?

As much as we would love a movie to be created. There is currently no intention of turning Harry Potter and the Cursed Child into a movie. And that comes from J.K. Rowling herself. The story was written for the stage and that is where it plans to stay.

However, there is always the possibility of the production become a movie, in a way. The performance may become available on DVD and Blu-ray one day. After the performance has had a good run on the stage. We do know filming of the production took place when it performed on the West End. So that filming could be used for the purpose of distributing a DVD and Blu-ray.

If the decision not to make an official movie was ever overturned for one reason or another then it would most likely be welcomed with open arms by the fandom. Many fans have gone out of their way to show how much they would like another movie. Some have gone as far as creating fan-made trailers and posters of what it could look like.

With the production being set 19 years after the ending to The Deathly Hallows a lot of fans would ideally like to see the likes of Daniel Radcliffe and all of the other original cast members return if a movie was commissioned. This might not happen but we do some actors would return if it ever did happen.
