Good Trouble preview: The moms visit the coterie

Good Trouble returns with “Parental Guidance Suggested” this week. Will the moms approve of the coterie? Here’s a preview.

Good Trouble has been such a great spin-off of The Fosters so far. Following Callie and Mariana through their journey of adulthood has been exciting to see, especially for those who grew up with them about five seasons ago. However, there was one (well, two) little things we were all missing.

Did someone say “mama-sandwich!?”

Here’s the official synopsis of “Parental Guidance Suggested:”

"Callie and Mariana’s moms visit their digs, but even with all the coterie residents on their best behavior things get out of hand. Meanwhile, Dennis reveals a shocking truth about his past."

The moms are back!!! And of course, they’re going to have a few thoughts about their daughters living situation, which apparently, is now being deemed a “fire trap.”

Watch the promo and see for yourself:

I may or may not have been waiting for their appearance all season, and I’m glad it’s in this episode. We’ve been set up for some good stories with our main characters, but we’re also seeing them both at a sort of stand-still. AKA they both need some mama advice. So what a perfect time for them to pop in.

As seen back in the second episode, where Jude gives Callie a lesson on bisexuality, it looks like the Good Trouble writers are bringing in these family members to give the story the little push that it needs, and I hope that reigns true with Lena and Stef.

While I would love to see Mariana seek advice about life at the office and Callie to ponder what she should do about Malika and Judge Wilson, I’m interested to know if Lena and Stef’s story will be furthered as well.

What have they been up to since we last saw them in Turks and Caicos? Guess we’ll find out on Tuesday.

Good Trouble airs Tuesdays on Freeform at 8/7 p.m. CT.
