Nothing beats true love, except love between two characters that we aren’t sure will ever get together. Here are the most ‘shipped television couples.
The most common dramatic tension on television comes from all the romantic entanglements. TV viewers love to see two characters fall in love and live happily ever after. Wait. No, we don’t. We want to see them break up, make up, and dance around each other for season after season. When we identify a couple that we really want to see in a relationship, we want them in a ‘ship, and we start to ‘ship them.
This list runs the gamut of the tried and true “will they/won’t they” kind of television ‘ships to a much more complicated dynamic. Some of these couples represent the best in human, romantic behavior, while others highlight our problematic and toxic modern dating culture. Either way, we love these two characters together, and we want them to get into (and stay in) a relationship come hell or high water.
