Good Trouble preview: Callie and Mariana face bad trouble in the workplace

It seems as though the Trouble that Callie and Mariana got into last week with their jobs might not end up so Good…

It was all fun and games before cell phones existed. The entire second episode revolved around cell phones, and more specifically, what not to do with them.

First, don’t leave it in the stall of your shared coterie bathroom while a party is going on when you probably should be working. Second, don’t let your friend go live on Insta after you’ve been complaining about the unfairness of your work and the misogyny of your boss all night long. Because bad things will happen. Every time.

If you’re not fully caught up from last week or forget a few details, check out our review here before finding out what’s to come.

Here’s the promo for this week’s Good Trouble.

There’s a lot to gather from this.

A likely protest for the Jamal Thompson case, Rebecca and Ben grinning at something at Callie’s expense probably, Malika crying, and of course, Mariana running into her boss again in an unfortunate incident. But what’s on his phone that seems to be catching her eye (and her interest, by the looks of it)!?

And, of course, things between Callie and Gael won’t be cooling off anytime in the near future. Yet in this sneak peek that Freeform released, we learn that Callie might be playing it off as though they are.

Here’s the official synopsis for this week’s episode, “Allies”:

"Callie’s love life heats up, especially after she contacts an old friend for some legal advice; Mariana’s attempt to get ahead at work has surprising consequences; Gael’s sister, Jazmin, reaches out to him for help."

And here’s my official takeaway from it:

  • Is this “old friend” that Callie contacts Jamie Hunter? You know, Brandon’s wife’s brother? You know, the one she kissed in Turks and Caicos in the season (and series) finale of The Fosters? I hope so.
  • I liked Mariana’s boss (the actual boss; not her team leader, just so we’re clear) when she first met him in the elevator in the series premiere. I think the secretary is overprotective of him and made a mountain out of a molehill. But I think they’re going to connect somehow in this next episode.
  • But speaking of bosses, what’s going to happen between Mariana and her team leader? Will they accept her into their crew? Will they pretend it never happened? Will he try to fire her?
  • How is Gael’s sister going to connect to this story?
  • Is Gael actually dating that other guy or are they just casual?
  • Why was Malika crying!?
  • Why were Rebecca and Ben smirking!?!
  • Why isn’t it Tuesday yet!!?

Guess we’ll just have to wait a little bit longer to get the answers to these much anticipated questions.
