Harry Potter Director wins two Golden Globes for Roma

The Director of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban has won not one, but two, Golden Globe awards for the Netflix original movie Roma.

It’s award season right now. And while Harry Potter is no longer being made and therefore unable to win any awards. The Wizarding World is, in a little way, still winning awards, as those involved in the making of the movies are picking up awards for what they are working on today.

As is the case for the Director of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban who has picked up not one, but two Golden Globe awards for the Netflix original movie, Roma.

Alfonso Cuarón directed The Prisoner of Azkaban back in 2004, and the Director was honored with two Golden Globe wins at the 76th Golden Globe Awards show earlier this week.

Winning the award for Best Director of a Motion Picture and Best Foreign Language Film. Roma was also nominated for Best Screenplay of a Motion Picture, but it failed to win the award for that category.

The movie is currently available to stream on Netflix. It arrived last year on the streaming platform in October 2018, and is an emotional movie set in 1970s Mexico and focuses on a domestic workers journey as she encounters domestic and political turmoil.

Praised since the moment it arrived on the streaming platform. Roma was tipped as a favorite to win at least one Golden Globe.
