Is Hogwarts still as secretive in the modern era as it was in the past?

We know that the wizarding world is still a secret to muggles but do muggles know more about Hogwarts in the modern age or are they still in the dark about it?

Hogwarts has always been hidden to the muggle world but can it still stay that way with modern technology? Sure, for years, it made sense that they could keep it a secret, let the public forget anything they saw but now, with technology and everyone constantly being plugged in, there has to be some muggle that lets the secret out.

Even if it isn’t a student from Hogwarts but rather a parent or a sibling, someone had to snitch, right? Think about if Petunia had Twitter when Lily got to go to Hogwarts. She would have instantly tweeted about the wizarding world just to spite her sister, yes? Or is there some special spell that stops anyone from talking about the wizarding world unless they are part of it?

Because, if so many people know about the school through friends and family, there is no way that more people don’t know about wizards and witches. Sure, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them showed that wizards can make people completely forget about all that has happened in the world but then, at the same time, it didn’t work with Jacob so anyone could remember what they saw.

At the end of the day, we don’t know who does and doesn’t know about Hogwarts and the wizarding world but it has to be more than just those magical beings and their families.

What do you think? Do you think that people know about Hogwarts more in the modern era or is it still a secret of the wizarding world? Sound off in the comments and let us know what you think!
