Regina King

The style of dress Regina King has on isn’t particularly unexpected.

However, it just works so well that we had to put it on the list. From the different patterns providing her with a figure-flattering look, to just how well the pink tones worked with her skin, to even the fit, this was a stunner of an ensemble.

Emily Blunt

Blunt’s dress was unfortunately hyped up ahead of her appearance on the Golden Globes red carpet. During E! Live From the Red Carpet, hosts expressed her look would somehow pay homage to Mary Poppins, Britain, and perhaps be something we’ve never seen before.

Well, it certainly was the latter.

This looks like your nana’s tablecloth, down to being slightly dingy-looking. Perhaps if it had been rendered in a different color, it would have worked? It’s a shame, because if you look closely, there’s a lot of interesting detail to be had here.

Lucy Liu

This look, however, had almost too much color, even for Lucy Liu to handle. Funnily enough, though, the sheer cape actually looks cool. It takes some of the attention away from the gown, which has a lot going on, to put it diplomatically. If it had been all pink, it would have been too boring, though. Frankly, it seems like there weren’t many ways to really rock this dress.

Rosamund Pike

Rosamund Pike has already been a Bond girl, so it’s a little strange that she’d wear something that wouldn’t look out of place in a James Bond film. Keep looking at it until you get it. Maybe hum the theme if you really have to.

Constance Wu

We respect the decision to go with neither a true white nor a rich color, but we do not respect the orange ribbon. It just feels unfinished somehow, and we’re not talking about the top.

Cody Fern

If this look were a mixtape, it would feature “I’m Not Okay (I Promise)” at least twice. Your 2005 MySpace goth self is shook. Don’t deny it. Just accept that the man who played the literal Antichrist on American Horror Story is more than willing to still work dramatic, all-black looks in real life. Michael Langdon would be proud.
