For Sean Rees-Wemyss, being cast as Albus Severus Potter may have saved his acting career. As he was considering throwing in the towel altogether and pursuing something else just before he landed the role.

"“I was in London at the time, backpacking around Europe, and I was thinking about moving away from acting because I’d found other passions at uni – literature and Islamic studies – and acting is really hard and it can be saddening,”"

Manali Datar found out she had been cast as Rose Granger-Weasley the day before her birthday.

"“I couldn’t tell anyone, which was really difficult. But it was nice to have all my friends around me and know that I had this support group.”"

William McKenna, who will play Scorpius Malfoy, is the youngest out of three cast members. He found out he had been cast at the just as he had begun his senior year at school.

"“That was fortunate and unfortunate,”“because it was such a long time before we started rehearsal.“Obviously my family knew, but keeping it from my best friends, when everyone is asking what you’re doing next year and talking about gap years and so on, it wasn’t the easiest thing for sure.”"
