Harry Potter roller coaster construction update at Universal Orlando

We all know there is a new Harry Potter roller coaster ride on the way at Universal Orlando and we have an update on the current construction.
2019 is not getting a new Wizarding World movie. Fantastic Beasts 3 isn’t expected to arrive until 2020, annoyingly, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t going to be anything good arriving for Potterheads this year. One thing is the new Harry Potter roller coaster ride at Universal Orlando.
The ride is currently being constructed at the theme park and is expected to arrive at some point this year. Very little detail is known about the new ride, including the actual name of it, but we do have an update.
Thanks to Attraction Magazines, we now have some new images to look at and analysis. The new images show the carriages that riders will sit in, and they look very familiar.

While the carriages are covered up at the moment, the shape they form looks almost exactly like the flying motorcycle and side carriage Hagrid rode when he delivered Harry to the Dursley’s when he was baby. Shortly after Lord Voldemort had killed James and Lily Potter before turning his wand on baby Harry, only for it to backfire on him completely. Hagrid, of course, got the flying motorcycle and side carriage from Sirius Black.
That same flying motorcycle was used again in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows during the seven Potter’s scene when the protective charm surrounding the Dursley’s House finally broke and Harry had to leave before Voldemort and the Death Eaters came.

Whether the new Harry Potter themed ride plans to replicate one of these iconic moments is unknown. Best guess is it won’t, as the ride is suspected to involve Hogwarts Castle, The Forbidden Forest, and Hogsmeade. So we will just have to wait and see.
