Is Harry Potter on Hulu?

Harry Potter is one of the most successful movie franchises to exist, and therefore the most in-demand movie franchise ever. So is Harry Potter on Hulu?

Trying to watch Harry Potter is a bit of a nightmare. Unless you own the DVD and Blu-ray of course. You would think that the most popular and in-demand movie franchise ever to be made would be available to watch across many different platforms. However, it’s on fewer platforms than most regular movies. But what about Hulu? Is Harry Potter on Hulu available to stream?

In short, it is, and it isn’t. Basically, the Harry Potter movies are not available on Hulu, but you can watch them on SYFY via Hulu.

Before SYFY and The USA Network acquired the rights to show the Wizarding World movies from HBO, it was possible to watch them via the streaming platform. You could get access to HBO as an extra subscription on top of your Hulu package and therefore access the movies.

Now, with HBO no longer showing the movies you have to tune into SYFY via Hulu. This is perfectly possible, it is one of the options to watch the network. What is not clear is if you can watch the movies at your leisure, like tuning in to Netflix and watching a movie when you feel like it, or if you can only watch them when SYFY is airing the Harry Potter movies as part of the networks regular programming.

As you can see, it’s a bit of a minefield right now when trying to watch the Golden Trio taking on He Who Must Not Be Named. And it changes pretty regularly as well.

Things are just as bad on other platforms as well. With Netflix adding the titles but only outside the US in select countries. Amazon has them as well, but only if you purchase the movies. It’s a bit of a headache really.
