Serious Moonlight – Jenn Bennett

Jenn Bennett’s Alex, Approximately and Starry Eyes have stolen the hearts of contemporary lovers, and her 2019 release is likely to do the same. Serious Moonlight is expected to come out during April next year, offering readers a romance that will keep them warm and cozy well after winter has passed.

Serious Moonlight follows Birdie and Daniel, two teenagers who wind up working together in a Seattle hotel. Birdie was raised by grandparents who homeschooled her and kept her inside often, leading her to become shy and introverted. She dreams of having an exciting life, like the detectives she reads about in her mystery novels, but she has trouble making her vision a reality.

When she lands a job at a hotel, Birdie sees it as an opportunity to step outside of her bubble. It will be the perfect way to prepare her to start college in the fall. Daniel, a van driver who also works the overnight shift, offers to help her in doing this.

As it turns out, Daniel also has a fondness for mysteries. And things really take off when the two realize they have a real-life mystery right under their noses. A famous and reclusive writer who avoids the public eye is said to be visiting someone at the hotel. The two set out to discover the identity of the writer, though doing so might be dependent on Birdie stepping out of her shell once and for all.

A lighthearted contemporary with fun mystery components to it, Serious Moonlight will be released on April 16.
