10 of Aquaman’s thirstiest moments on the big screen

9. King Orm defeated

This might sound awful, but we admit that King Orm brought out a little bit of our thirst too. Unfortunately, it didn’t happen until he was actually defeated by his brother. As we watched him on his knees in front of Arthur, there was something about Orm that caught our attention.

Perhaps it was his vulnerability or maybe the fact that he was no longer perfectly coiffed with his hair slicked back, but there was something there that had us taking another look at Arthur’s younger brother. And as he realized that his mother was still alive, we witnessed a softness underneath all of that anger. We hope Orm has truly learned from his wrongdoings, because we need to see much more of this changed man in the sequel.

10. Arthur taking his rightful place as king

After the battle is over and Arthur proclaims himself Aquaman, we found ourselves reaching for that glass of water again (thank goodness for supersized drinks at the theater). Here was our Atlantean king, home at last. Though we had already seen Arthur in his new suit at the waterfall and in battle, this was the first time we watched him truly embrace his rightful place as king.

We witnessed a more relaxed version of Aquaman, much like we saw at the beginning of the film when he was in the bar with his father drinking. However, this time around he didn’t need liquor to make him happy. Creating peace between his old world and his new kingdom made him the hottest ruler we know.

Let’s be honest — we all went into the theater expecting to be pretty thirsty from this movie. Jason Momoa delivered, as did much of the cast of Aquaman, and for that, we were pleasantly surprised.

While we can admit there were some flaws to this film, we don’t care, because we enjoyed every second of this movie, and we will definitely be watching it again (for more than the shirtless moments too).
