The magic of Dobby and the sock that Harry Potter gave him

Dobby got his sock from Harry Potter and he was a free elf and it was a moment that can still make Potter fans everywhere cry.

It says something when we all still cry knowing that Dobby is a free elf because of Harry Potter. For instance, at Christmas, my aunt got me socks that said “Master gave Dobby a sock! Dobby is a free elf” and I instantly started to cry. It is an important thing to note that Harry giving Dobby that book is maybe one of the most significant moments in the series.

Before then, sure, Dobby was attempting to help Harry outside of the Malfoy’s rule but then again, he wasn’t able to do all he needed for Harry because he had to answer to Lucius. When Harry found out what Lucius Malfoy did to Ginny and, subsequently, the other students of Hogwarts? The least Harry could do was set Dobby free. And, at that point, he owed it to Dobby to begin with.

It is still one of the greatest friendships in the series and to see the two work together once Dobby was free was incredible because we knew that Harry had a hand it in. He was able to free him, getting back and Lucius and helping the elf who helped him and tried to keep him safe.

It was a beautiful moment in the series and started our journey with Harry. We knew the kind of man he was going to be because he was willing give up everything to help someone else.
