14. Drax

Even within context, “Quill?” isn’t the most upsetting pre-death line a character has uttered in Infinity War. Nonetheless, it’s still upsetting that Drax turns to Peter Quill for answers when he confusingly starts to devolve into nothingness.

Overall though, Drax’s death is devastating because he never got closure in his story arc. He never got to avenge his slain daughter and wife. Granted, he did at least try to vanquish Thanos before the gauntlet-induced decimation started.

While the Guardians are on Knowhere, Drax obviously tries to attack Thanos. You know, before we all found out that Knowhere is under the influence of the Reality Stone, and things start to go badly for our heroes.

Excuse us, Mr. Thanos, could we please have Drax (and everyone else) back? In the meantime, we’ll be billing Joe and Anthony Russo our monthly tissue budget.
