Men in Black International: 3 best moments from the first trailer

From the many quirks of Agent H to the competence of newbie Agent M, the first trailer for Men in Black International has plenty to love.

Any film that reunites Tessa Thompson with Chris Hemsworth is a film that moviegoers should probably pay attention to. Any film that has those two and then lets them be funny? That’s a film that we’re going to want to see in theaters at least once. Thankfully, Men in Black International has both of those features in its first trailer.

It also includes Emma Thompson and Liam Neeson, aliens, and Fergie’s “London Bridge” of all things, and we’re very into everything.

These moments, though, had us ready to purchase tickets.

Agent H loves tacos

Never mind that it’s 9:30 in the morning when Tessa Thompson’s Agent M wakes up Hemsworth’s Agent H. It is Tuesday, and that means taco day. In fact, even though Agent M is the newbie in the film, she seems much more competent in her presentation than Agent H is. Of course, we’re also told that Agent H is really good at his job. We get to see that, too, but for now, we’re just happy to enjoy Agent H enjoying tacos.

“Mmm, no, but it looks damn good on you.”

Agent M finds the Men in Black all on her own, and even though it’s hinted that she has some issues (probably partially caused by her 20 years of searching for them), she has a smoothness to her. She actually flirts with Emma Thompson’s character, who, funnily enough, is not wearing the traditional black suit. (Instead, Emma Thompson’s agent gets a smart suit of her own, because she’s presumably important.)

Tessa Thompson injects a lot of flirtatious energy into this line, and here’s hoping it’s not just a one-off line in order to get fans excited. Let Agent M flirt with whom she wants to flirt!

The cool car

Half of the fun of the Men in Black films is seeing what sort of ridiculous technology enters the real world — or as close to the real world as a movie in which aliens exist — and this first trailer doesn’t disappoint. Not only do the mind-wipe flashes return, but Agent H’s car shows that it’s got all kinds of weaponry ready to go.

That includes essentially making a tommy gun from a hubcap.

It certainly looks fantastic. Here’s hoping that it doesn’t get horribly blown up or destroyed, even if it’s only part of the London scenes.
