The Great British Baking Show

Series availability: 7 seasons, 70 episodes (and two holiday specials)
Watch now on Netflix.

The holidays is all about spending time with your family, getting some time to relax (in between all the Christmas and New Years craziness, of course), and best of all, lots of baking and eating! Another great thing about the holidays is that the Food Network is usually marathoning all their best shows, like Chopped or Holiday Baking Championship. You won’t even need to check those out, though, because The Great British Baking Show is on Netflix and just waiting to be enjoyed.

On this British baking competition show (named The Great British Bake Off in the UK), a group of amateur bakers compete against each other to show off their baking skills and prove they are the top baker! You’ll get to see impressive cakes, cookies, pies and anything else you can imagine. Be warned, you won’t want to watch this show hungry, because your stomach will be grumbling the entire time. Even if you just ate a feast, these delicious desserts will still get your taste buds tingling!

If your family and friends are lucky, maybe watching the amazing bakers on The Great British Baking Show will inspire you to do a little baking of your own. Just kidding, nobody actually gets inspired to bake after watching baking shows all day. Eat, maybe, but baking involves moving and buying ingredients and all that effort… You’re better off binging on holiday leftovers and watching Mary Berry critique everyone else’s perfect desserts while you shout your own judgments at the TV. Not that I do that or anything…
