Will & Grace has been having a new resurgence thanks to the rebooted ninth season of the show in 2017 and its continued success. With the Christmas holidays just around the corner, what better time to settle in with a glass of wine, some snacks, and a big fluffy blanket to spend some quality time with your best friends, Will, Grace, Jack, and Karen?

Over the course of the eight original seasons, we got to watch Will and Grace go through a nearly endless stream of men, some that were perfect for them, and others who were real duds (I don’t know what Grace was thinking with Nathan…). Jack goes through one career change after another, from one one-man show to another (and Just Jack! is very different from Jack 2000!), and man after man after man after man after man. And Karen, well, she doesn’t age over nearly 10 years — and still hasn’t — and she’s always just as shallow and drunk.

The show first started back in 1998, and the television landscape was completely different. Gay characters on TV were slim to none, and WIll & Grace helped break down barriers for LGBTQ representation on network television. Though it sometimes played up gay stereotypes, it helped usher in a new era of diversity on TV, and it did that with lots of laughs and a whole lot of heart! While the jokes might be dated when you rewatch the series in 2018, it’s great to take a look back at TV history.
