Tom Holland gives Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse his seal of approval
By Mia Johnson
Fellow Spider-Man Tom Holland gave a quick review for Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. And he has some good words to say about the movie.
Sony doesn’t have to look to Rotten Tomatoes to find a good review for Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. Yes, the movie is certified fresh, but there’s only one review that matters right now. It’s from Sony’s very own, Tom Holland. (Okay… our review matters, too.)
Over the weekend, the other Spider-Man actor took the time to share his review on Instagram along with a promotional image for the movie. And of course, Holland had nothing but good words to say.
“Honestly one of the coolest films I’ve ever seen,” he wrote on Instagram. “Do yourself a favor and go see this movie.”
Even without Tom Holland’s seal of approval, it looks like fans were eager to see the movie anyway. The animated film opened at number one on the box office this week, making around $35.4 million.
The New York Times reports that figure isn’t enough for the company to break even just yet, but with the Christmas holiday coming up, it’s likely a lot more people will go to see the film while they’re on winter vacation. Plus, word of mouth reviews like Holland’s will definitely help, on top of any people wanting to see the movie again because it’s just that awesome.
Another one of those people who might want to see the movie again is Holland himself, who looks like he had quite the exhausting day. On his Instagram story Monday morning, he revealed that he’d be getting his final three wisdom teeth removed. A few hours later, and Holland appeared back on his story, essentially making his own David After Dentist video. For that, we think the best medicine really is getting some rest and going to see Into the Spider-Verse again, because that movie heals.
As of now, Holland gets to have a small break from his world of Spider-Man. His next solo movie, Spider-Man: Far From Home, wrapped filming not too long ago. And fans have been expecting a public release of the movie’s trailer for a while now. Attendees got to see the first footage of the movie at the Comic Con Experience in Brazil, but a meager description of that trailer is all we have for now.
If Sony’s holding out on a trailer for Far From Home to let Into the Spider-Verse get some good publicity, then that certainly is a good plan. Spider-Verse is an outstanding movie, and it definitely deserves any praise it gets (especially from Tom Holland.)
