Downton Abbey teaser trailer featuring Dame Maggie Smith dropped

A teaser trailer for the up and coming Downton Abbey movie has dropped and it features the wonderful Harry Potter legend, Dame Maggie Smith.
It’s been some time since we have been graced with the presence of Downton Abbey. It won’t be long until we go back though as we will be returning to the Abbey once more in 2019. As will the most famous and popular Harry Potter Professor, Minerva McGonagall, a.k.a Dame Maggie Smith.
Dame Maggie Smith obviously will not be appearing as Professor McGonagall in the Downton Abbey movie. She will be reprising her role as Violet Crawley, or as she is more commonly known, the Dowager Countess.
But if we are honest with ourselves, the Dowager Countess is basically the Muggle version of Professor McGonagall. Honestly, compare the two and the only difference between them is one can do magic and the other can’t. Their personalities and character traits are pretty much identical.

Anyway, Potterheads and Downton Abbey fans will be happy to hear that after coming to an end in 2016. The series is returning with a finale movie in 2019 to give fans the closure they should have received long ago.

Many of the original cast are returning to reprise their roles. Including Harry Potter’s Dame Maggie Smith. A teaser trailer has now officially been unveiled for the up and coming movie. There is no dialogue or any specific scenes of the cast, but it does get you in the mood for the show. Especially with the iconic music playing. Check it out just below.
You will have probably noticed, right at the very end, that the Dowager Countess is included in the list of names of characters appearing in the movie. Confirming the appearance of Dame Maggie Smith.
What might have slipped by you, mainly because she wasn’t listed in the teaser. Is the fact another Harry Potter actress will be appearing in the movie as well. Imelda Staunton, who played the notorious Professor Umbridge, is to play a role in the movie. Not only that, but she will have scenes with the Dowager Countess.
So once again Professor McGonagall and Professor Umbridge will come face to face. Who Imelda Staunton will play is still not known, so whether the two will go head to head once again, or be equals, is unclear.
No release date has been set yet. An official trailer is due for release soon.
