Watch Kesha’s empowering ‘Here Comes The Change’ performance on Ellen
Kesha’s performance of “Here Comes The Change” on Ellen is both inspiring and empowering. Give it a watch here.
We are all about inspiring women and celebrating their inspiring moments in entertainment and media. That is why we’re beyond excited that On the Basis of Sex, based on the life of Ruth Bader Ginsburg, comes to theaters this year. The movie looks to be inspiring and empowering, and will offer many to learn more about the amazing life of RBG.
The film will also feature a new song by Kesha called “Here Comes The Charge.” Kesha has been all about the strength of women and finding her voice over the past couple of years. We loved the power within several of her songs from her latest album Rainbow. Lyrics from “Praying” and “Woman” were full of strength and emotion, and now we have a new Kesha ballad to belt out.
During an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show this week, Kesha performed the song on television for the first time ever, and you’ll definitely want to watch the whole thing.
Kesha looks amazing in the video in a rainbow sequin dress and striped blazer that we would love to get our hands on. But, more than that, her performance is inspiring, and we love seeing her career continue to grow and to see her thrive since her comeback.
The story behind “Here Comes The Change” is pretty motivational, in that Kesha wrote it herself after she watched the film.
In an essay she wrote for Refinery29, Kesha shared that “I wanted to do what I could to pay tribute to Ginsburg, who has spent a lifetime fighting tirelessly for equality, with no signs of slowing down. I wanted to make my voice heard, too.”
You can listen to “Here Comes the Charge” on repeat while you wait for On the Basis of Sex to arrive in theaters on December 25!
