Captain Marvel: Could she be a Skrull and does it even matter?

Skrull or not, does it matter?
Naturally, if the Skrull that might end up impersonating Carol Danvers in Captain Marvel thinks they are actually Captain Marvel, then they’re essentially an honorary Avenger and good guy. (We can’t hate a Skrull who ends up doing good things proceeding a failed, experimental memory implantation.)
However, we have a hunch that the outcome of our Carol-Skrull watch might not matter for more upsetting reasons than a Skrull who thinks they’re actually Carol Danvers. Since Ant-Man and the Wasp concluded with the upsetting reality that nobody is safe from the snap, Captain Marvel could be dusted before we officially see her in Avengers: Endgame.
Scott Lang might still be stuck in the Quantum Realm, despite what the Endgame trailers indicate, which illustrates that the snap dusts living creatures unconditionally.
Although Captain Marvel will likely play a significant role in the upcoming Avengers film, that doesn’t mean she won’t be dusted during her post-credit scene, where she’ll likely answer her emergency call from Nick Fury. After all, we already know that Carol is a noteworthy opponent, even for the Titan, and dusting her at the end of her movie could be a way for the MCU to keep viewers in suspense of the risks high.
Conversely, if Carol is a Skrull for any length of time during her film, her Skrull lookalike could be the one who’s dusted instead of the real Captain Marvel.
