Bob’s Burgers – “Christmas In The Car”
From one beloved cartoon family to the next, this time Christmas is just as dramatic, but without any major meltdowns! Linda Belcher, one of the most relatable characters on TV, puts up the family Christmas tree on Nov. 1, even though Bob tells her it’ll die before Christmas. When it dies on Thanksgiving, they get a new one the next day, and it’s dead again by Christmas Eve. What’s a family to do?
Since it’s impossible to find a tree on Christmas Eve, Bob has to take the family to a tree lot over an hour away, and reluctantly leaves Teddy in charge of checking on the ham in the oven…but Teddy gets caught in a booby trap Louise set up to catch Santa in the act. He’s pinned under the fridge and can’t get to the ham, and the Belcher family is out in the cold trying to find a tree, which turns out to be harder than they expected since the only ones left would best be described as Charlie Brown trees.
On their way out of the lot, the family gets cut off by a large candy cane truck, and Linda tries to spread Christmas cheer by honking “Jingle Bells” to him (which just sounded like someone honking wildly). Bob thinks he sees the candy cane truck waiting for them to turn off the road, and Linda wants to stop at a local diner for their specialty Dutch baby pancakes even though Bob wants to get back to the ham in the oven. When they finally leave, the crazed candy cane driver is waiting for them; they swerve into the woods to get away from him, which obviously doesn’t turn out well.
In the end, it turns out the driver is just upset that he can’t be home for Christmas because he has to drive that giant candy cane cross country to be in not one, but two parades, and the honking set him off. Linda gives the man her Dutch baby for his long drive, and he and Bob come to an understanding. Don’t you love a happy ending on Christmas?
