That ‘70s Show – “An Eric Forman Christmas”

It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia isn’t the only show that decided to recreate classic stop-motion children’s Christmas specials, like Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer. On this season 4 episode of That ‘70s Show, Eric and his friends are getting ready for Christmas, and it’s not going great for everyone.

As you get older, the magic of Christmas just isn’t the same as when you were a child, and Donna, Eric, Jackie, Fez, and Hyde are starting to realize that as they get deeper into their teen years. Kelso, however, still has that youthful ignorance that helps keep the magic alive, but not if Jackie can help it.

Kelso just wants to watch the classic stop-motion Christmas specials like Rudolph and The Little Drummer Boy, but Jackie and their pals tease him for being a baby. When Kelso falls asleep and dreams about Santa, Rudolph, and other beloved animated characters, Santa tells him that as long as he really believes in the magic of Christmas, nothing can ever hurt him, even his friends bullying him. He wakes up with just enough time to rush home and watch his favorite specials!

Meanwhile, Eric and the others get roped into volunteering for the church Christmas pageant by Kitty. Eric will be directing the play, but he struggles to get everyone to take it seriously and stop changing their roles to be less biblical. With his friends messing everything up, Eric eventually gets kicked out of the director’s chair. Pastor Dave tries to rein everyone in and get the pageant back on track, but then he gets overpowered and they tie him to a chair.

And it wouldn’t be Christmas without a feud between Bob and Red. It seems like Red just can’t handle Bob’s Christmas spirit, and he’s sick and tired of Bob’s Christmas decorations, so he decides to hide them all. Would anyone really be surprised to find out that Red is kind of a Grinch? I, for one, am not shocked.
