Avengers: Endgame is the official title, and we have some early speculation on what it could mean for the future of the MCU.

Marvel fans are still freaking over Avengers: Endgame — both the title and the newly released trailer. There will undoubtedly be plenty of excitement within the Marvel fandom throughout this weekend and honestly, all the way up until the film premieres next April.

We are so ready to hear everybody’s new theories and speculations now that we finally have some footage released. We also finally have a title, so all of the speculation and wondering over that is finally over.

This is something people have been speculating about for a while. One thing worth noting is how Avengers: Endgame was a title that was floated around as a popular option even months ago.

While many dismissed it as too soon to know and just fan speculation, it turns out it was right.

We are sure there will be lots of theories in the future, and we will keep you posted on any of the big ones as we hear about them. But, for now, let’s discuss what we know about the trailer and any hints it could give to the story or plot of the movie.

Avengers: Endgame has an obvious connection to what Doctor Strange saw and spoke about in Avengers: Infinity War. Before turning into a pile of dust, Strange told Tony Stark how all the heroes were in the endgame now.

The title for the upcoming Avengers film is a direct nod to that quote. This helps the two films tie together, and many fans felt this would be an obvious title for the film that followed Infinity War.

Digital Spy points out that the words “End Game” have appeared as titles of Marvel comics before, but not of any comics that really related to the Avengers. As a result, it’s difficult to draw direct connections to comic storylines as people did with Infinity War.

Marvel has been discussing for a while how this movie will really switch things up and change the future of the MCU. Many fans are stressed about the fate of many of their favorite characters, especially Captain America and Iron Man. Calling the movie Avengers: Endgame really does seem to point to the fact that things are going to change. More people might die. This really could be the “end” of the Avengers and MCU as we know it, which would leave things open for the next phase of the MCU.

The title hints at some very bittersweet things. The MCU isn’t going away for good, and many heroes we know and love will likely stick around, and many new ones will be introduced, too. However, it’s very unlikely that the universe of heroes will look the same at the end of this film. It’s definitely not wild to be scared for some of the characters that you are attached to.

Marvel is really getting us all worried! We don’t know if we can handle the wait until the film comes out!
