Avengers astrology: Which character best represents each sign?

Cancer (June 21 – July 22) – War Machine/James Rhodes

The Cancer zodiac sign is notorious for taking on a parental role, which can also signal that Tony’s ascending sign is likely in Cancer—seeing as he has a habit off mentoring spiderlings and ironclad youngsters alike. However, Tony isn’t the only paternal figure in the Avengers.

Rhodey also takes on a protective role, much like a parent, specifically in regard to Tony.  After every battle and every test flight, Rhodey checks in with him, and he’s likely also helped his college friend cope with his anxiety as well.

Cancers are incredibly protective and loyal to their friends and family, which explains why War Machine is more than eager to join Iron Man in the sky, battlefield, or conference call. Beyond acting as an entire support group in one person, Cancers are natural leaders.

It  might be the instinctive nurturing roles they play in their friend circles, but Cancers make quick decisions even in the face of pressure. This also explains why Rhodey isn’t just a hero in his loved ones’ lives: he’s also an obvious hero in his War Machine suit.

Granted, we hope to get a War Machine film or an Iron Man movie starring James Rhodes as Iron Man (seeing as he implicitly and explicitly takes on the Iron Man pseudonym in the comics). That way, we can see more of Rhodey’s personality and zodiac sign thoroughly featured on-screen.
