Game of Thrones season 8: Everything you need to know

facebooktwitterreddit

The final season is nearly upon us and that means that we have a lot to talk about with Game of Thrones. So what exactly do we know about the last season?

Game of Thrones is sadly coming to an end this next season. So what does that mean for the show in season 8? Well, we should be finally seeing who is going to take the Iron Throne and see what happens to Jon Snow, Daenerys Targaryen, and the rest of our favorite characters from Westeros.

When does season 8 come out? How can I watch?

The eighth season of Game of Thrones begins on HBO on April 14, 2019. You can catch up on the HBO app, which has every season of Game of Thrones available. Every week, after the episode airs, the episode will be available to stream instantly, so you can always keep up with the show.

How many episodes will there be?

This season, we’re getting a little less Game of Thrones than we’d like. The first six seasons of the show had 10 episodes each that lasted around an hour per episode. However, season 7 only had seven episodes, and HBO released that the final season will only have six episodes. Iain Glen has said they’re “feature-length,” though.

Which actors are returning? And who are the newbies?

While many favorite characters are dead, there are still plenty high-ranking GoT cast members returning the eighth and final season. Peter Dinklage, Sophie Turner, Kit Harington, and Emilia Clarke have been seen on set — so that means we at least get their characters for a bit.

What can I expect for season 8?

Each death we witnessed and the struggles of our favorite characters dying before our very eyes were all so we could see who would take the Iron Throne. We’ll have to see where the show takes us, but from this trailer, everyone is still a contender.

What do fans think will happen?

There are tons of theories about the next season. We break down 25 fan theories you should know before watching this April. The best theory has to do with Daenerys. The Khaleesi of the Great Grass Sea has been around from the start, but fans think that her time on Thrones may be coming to an end.

What happened last season?

This is Game of Thrones. If there isn’t a death that shocked us, is it really a good season? We really shouldn’t call it a highlight, but the death that hit the hardest from last season is that of Hodor. So many fell in love with this big man who dedicated his life to protecting Bran, and watching him die was definitely not fun.

We still have quite a lot of time before we see season 8 of Game of Thrones. Waiting until April to go back to Westeros is going to feel like forever, even if we just have to wait until April 14, 2019.
