Christmas – Michael Bublé

If Mariah Carey is the Queen of Christmas, I think we know who the king is: Michael Bublé of course! The Canadian crooner has a voice that was made to sing holiday classics, comparable to greats like Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin, so thankfully he heard his calling and made us all happy! Fittingly, the lead single of the album was actually his cover of “All I Want For Christmas is You”, so clearly he knew he was coming for a throne in the Holiday Monarchy!

This wasn’t Bublé’s first time dipping his toe into the Christmas waters. He first released the five-track EP Let It Snow in 2003, but he took the big plunge to release a full album in 2011. The album features 14 covers, including “Ave Marie”, “Blue Christmas”, “Silent Night”, and pretty much every other Christmas song you can thing of. There’s also the original, co-written by Bublé, titled “Cold December Night”. And to make the album extra special, there’s even a 5-second Christmas greeting from Michael Bublé himself!

Thankfully for fans, there was plenty more where that came from. The deluxe edition of the album featured three more songs, like “Winter Wonderland”, and in 2012 he released a special edition version of the album that also featured “The Christmas Song (Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire)” as well as a new holiday greeting from the crooner. The album debuted at #3 on the Billboard 200, climbed to number one, and held the top spot for four weeks. In fact, it became his biggest selling album to date and was the second best-selling album of the entire year, second only to Adele’s 21 (which I’m sure he was okay with, because it’s Adele).

To solidify his Christmas crown, Bublé has starred in three of his own Christmas specials in 2011, 2012, and 2013. He’s busier than Santa Claus himself!
