Gwen Stefani is another artist you would never expect to ever release a holiday album. “Hollaback Girl” and “What You Waiting For?” don’t exactly scream “wholesome family Christmas” (unless you change the lyrics to “Take a chance you stupid ho ho ho!”) but it seems like her years in the industry and becoming a mother softened Gwen and made her ready to get into the Christmas spirit!

Gwen announced in July 2017 that she had plans to release new music by the end of the year, but little did fans know that would be a Christmas album! It seems like Gwen didn’t expect it either, because inspiration struck when she was staying at boyfriend Blake Shelton’s farm in Oklahoma. She thought up the lyrics to the song “Christmas Eve” and the rest is history. She announced the album in September much to the surprise and enjoyment of her fans.

You Make It Feel Like Christmas features six original tracks co-written by Gwen with superstar songwriter Justin Tranter as well as classics like “Santa Baby”, “Jingle Bells,” “White Christmas”, and George Michael’s hit “Last Christmas”. Critics praised Gwen’s retro vibe on the songs, many of which blended her pop sound with a country twist, including her romantic lover’s duet with Blake, “You Make It Feel Like Christmas”.

Gwen celebrated the release of her first Christmas album with a huge theatrical holiday special Gwen Stefani’s You Make It Feel Like Christmas on NBC. Gwen rocked some amazing seasonally-appropriate outfits and performed songs from the album to kick off the holiday season.
