Jodie Whittaker

Not only do we want Jodie Whittaker to be at our holiday dinner, but she deserves to be the guest of honor because of all that she’s had to put up with as the first female Doctor on Doctor Who. Obviously, when she was announced as the new Doctor, a few bad apples had some things to say.

Despite some of the criticism, Jodie Whittaker isn’t letting that slow her down. And the fans, including us, are already gushing over how great a fit she is for the role.

Just imagine being able to talk to someone who actually played the Doctor, a role that’s been around for over 50 years. It’s so iconic, and especially game-changing now that Whittaker’s the first female Doctor. But honestly, Whittaker’s probably had her fill of talking about that kind of stuff anyway. She’d probably just want to share how much fun she’s had on set, and what it’s like to meet past Doctors like Matt Smith (we bet he’s a blast, too).

Just try not to embarrass yourself when you show up in full cosplay dressed as Rose Tyler or Amy Pond, because she probably won’t show up in full-Doctor gear. If anything — to save the embarrassment — she’d gladly sign your sonic screwdriver for you before digging into a piece of pumpkin pie.

Doctor — er, Jodie Whittaker, if you’re free for Thanksgiving or Christmas, please take a break from your very busy schedule to have a nice glass of wine, a slice of pie or two, and a laugh over all the people you proved wrong!
