Find out which character Sex and the City nearly killed off

Sex and the City 3 isn’t likely to happen, and maybe that’s for the best as the film may have killed off a major romantic interest.

While Sex and the City as a television show hasn’t been around for a while, fans have hoped and yearned for some time that a third Sex and the City movie would come to theaters.

And while yes, the movies might have had their flaws and lacked something that the television show offered, fans still want to get more of their favorite Sex and the City characters and moments. But, it might be a good thing that Sex and the City 3 never happened if you’re a fan of Mr. Big.

SATC fans are likely familiar with James Andrew Miller’s Cadence13 Origins podcast, which has been known to drop a bombshell or two regarding the beloved HBO hit — the latest being that Chris Noth’s character Mr. Big, who wed Carrie Bradshaw in the first film, would have been killed off in the third movie if it had gone as planned.

During an interview on the podcast, Miller shared that the love of Carrie’s life was set to “die of a heart attack—in the shower—relatively early on in the film.”

According to Miller, the point of killing off Mr. Big was to make the “remainder of the movie more about how Carrie recovers from Big’s death than about the relationship between the four women.”

This might have made many fans upset as it took so long in the series for Carrie and Mr. Big to finally tie the knot. It would be quite the test to twist things all up by killing off Big and leaving Carrie to mourn his death. Hasn’t the girl suffered enough?

Plus this hardly sounds like the type of comedic fun one might expect from Sex and the City. Maybe it’s a good thing that this movie didn’t end up happening because this sounds like it could have been one depressing mess.

Miller’s reveal seems to confirm a third film isn’t likely to happen in the future, and that’s perhaps for the best. Not only would Mr. Big be out of the picture, but a third film would also be devoid of Kim Cattrall.

While the rest of the cast has said they would be ready to do another film, Cattrall has made headlines for voicing her disinterest in the third film and clashing with the show’s lead, Sarah Jessica Parker.

We definitely can’t imagine a movie that doesn’t have Samantha. And, while many fans still insist that Mr. Big is sort of the worst, killing him off so suddenly doesn’t seem like it would have been the right move either.

What do you think Sex and the City fans? Would you have watched a third film if it didn’t have Mr. Big and Samantha?
