“8 Days of Christmas” – Destiny’s Child

From the 8 days of Hanukkah to the 8 days of Christmas, according to Destiny’s Child, because they don’t need a full 12 days to celebrate! The song appeared on the group’s 2001 Christmas album of the same name and featured covers of classics like “Silent Night” and “Do You Hear What I Hear.” The album gave all the girls their own solos, but their original track “8 Days of Christmas” has all the girls together. and we wouldn’t have it any other way!

In their own modern spin on the holiday carol “The 12 Days of Christmas”, Michelle, Kelly, and Beyoncé sing about all the gifts they got from their baby: a pair of Chloe shades, a diamond belly ring, a back and foot massage, jeans, a poem, and so much more. Sounds like a pretty good haul to me! They continue to sing about how in love they are with their men and how they make it feel more like Christmas because they get to spend it with the people they love. I’d be generous too if I was dating Beyoncé, but what on Earth would you even buy someone who already has it all?

I’ve said it a few times already, but it’s important to have fun with Christmas music! Of course there is a time and a place for more modern songs like this one, but it no doubt has a place amongst the classic carols.
