Talented artists are honoring Marvel comics legend Stan Lee with beautiful and heartbreaking art.
Stan Lee’s passing has been difficult for many people. He was an inspiration to millions of comic book and superhero fans, and his stories and characters have been a source of comfort, adventure, fun, and escape for so many of us.
For fans of the Marvel universe, it will undoubtedly be difficult to move forward, not seeing him in his famous cameos or attend conventions where he so lovingly interacted with fans. Though he will likely appear in Avengers 4 as his cameo has already been filmed, seeing him up on the screen will be bittersweet.
Many celebrities, especially those who worked with Lee on Marvel movies, have shared on social media how much Lee meant to them. Other celebrities, and fans, too, have been posting about how Stan Lee and his stories have impacted their lives.
One way many fans are coping with their grief is to honor Stan Lee’s legacy through art. A variety of talented artists have posted new works of Stan Lee as a tribute to him. We’ve collected some of our favorites, and you can find more with the hashtags #StanLee and #StanLee Forever.
Many of the works show Lee surrounded by the characters he created or helped shape. Along with their artwork, some artists also described the impact Lee left on their lives, and how much they will miss him.

Some of the art is more humorous, remembering what Stan Lee was like in life and some of his iconic moments.

An odd thing about origin story superhero films is that in these parallel universes we must assume these people inhabit worlds where the amazing creations of Stan Lee (and others) don’t already exist. Frankly that’s impossible to imagine. #StanLee we can never thank you enough. pic.twitter.com/IfkRqgOwtg

This final piece of art we share speaks volumes. As the artist notes, “maybe we will forget many heroes, but we will always remember the man who created the heroes.”
