The Big Bang Theory stars Kaley Cuoco and Johnny Galecki pay tribute to Stan Lee

The Big Bang Theory cast members have joined other celebrities and fans in paying tribute to the legendary Stan Lee after he died at 95.

The Big Bang Theory stars Kaley Cuoco and Johnny Galecki took time Monday to honor Stan Lee. Like other celebrities as well as fans, Cuoco and Galecki remember Lee for what he contributed to pop culture. But as The Big Bang Theory stars shared, Lee brought something special and unique to their lives.

Cuoco turned to Instagram after she learned that Lee had passed. In her post about Lee, Cuoco reflected on what the comic book icon meant to her and to the world. The actress offered her insights into Lee’s personality as she wrote about her sweet memories of his hugs.

Expressing sorrow at Lee’s passing, Cuoco pointed out that the legendary celebrity made a difference to the CBS hit sitcom. She shared her gratitude to the “epic superhero,” charmingly included his catchphrase “excelsior!!” in her tribute.

Johnny Galecki joined his Big Bang Theory co-star Cuoco in sharing a picture of Stan Lee with the cast on Instagram. Although Galecki’s picture featured Cuoco kissing the pop culture legend, Galecki made it clear that he is equally fond of Lee.

The actor thanked Lee for everything that he contributed to the entertainment industry. But beyond Lee’s contribution to the comic book world, Galecki joined Cuoco in reflecting on Lee’s personality.

Galecki thanked Lee for his “incredible sense of humor” as well as “lust for life.” The Marvel Comics superstar played himself in 2010  for the episode of The Big Bang Theory titled “The Excelsior Acquisition.”

In addition to the tributes from the two Big Bang Theory stars on Instagram, the official Twitter account for the popular comedy show paid tribute to Lee as well.

Fans joined in sharing how Lee’s guest star turn on The Big Bang Theory provided one of the show’s most memorable moments. Others suggested that The Big Bang Theory find a way to honor Lee.

One fan took it a step further. Although The Big Bang Theory is scheduled to end this season, this dedicated Stan Lee fan hopes that the show will keep going with a dedication to the comic book superstar!

We might not go quite so far as to propose more seasons to honor the Marvel comics legend. But a solemn end credits tribute or segment of an episode dedicated to his legacy would be touching, to say the least.
