Andrew Lincoln isn’t the only one who is signing new deals with AMC. Stars like Norman Reedus have reportedly signed to stay with the franchise for three years.

A lot is happening in the world of The Walking Dead television series today. Fans of the show know that last night AMC aired Rick Grimes “final episode” with the series. Despite advertising and convincing fans that Andrew Lincoln really was done with the series for good, it’s been revealed that Andrew Lincoln will star in three The Walking Dead films which will air on AMC.

More information is now coming out about other stars of the show and their deals with The Walking Dead. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Norman Reedus, who plays Daryl, and Melissa McBride, who plays Carol, have signed on to new deals with AMC. Reportedly, these contracts will last for three years and encompass the entire franchise. So, if their character isn’t on the main television show anymore, they could be put into a different show or movies, and if not, they would still get their money.

It looks like AMC is planning to continue expanding The Walking Dead universe and is possibly considering using stars like Reedus for other off-shoots in the future. Reedus’ deal has been reported to be around $350,000 for every episode. Overall, he will likely be making around $50 million to $90 million for his work with AMC over the next three years. McBride will likely see around $20 million for her new deal.

There is one other major star of the show who AMC likely wants to keep around for as long as possible. Danai Gurira (Michonne) is reported to be negotiating a new contract, but her deal could be a bit more complex since she has had such success playing Okoye in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

You might be wondering why these deals are worth noting, but, they are a pioneering type of contract that addresses more than just the one series. These new deals will allow the Reedus and McBride to appear in other projects related to The Walking Dead and its growing universe.
