American Horror Story: Apocalypse preview: “Fire and Reign” has the witches in trouble

The ninth episode of American Horror Story: Apocalypse, “Fire and Reign,” has Cordelia in big trouble and other witches scrambling.

The ninth episode of American Horror Story: Apocalypse has a rather dramatic name and it sounds like it’s all fire, brimstone, and prince of hell territory this week. In “Fire and Reign,” it appears the witches won’t be having such a great time and the balance of power might be shifting towards Michael Langdon’s favor.

The IMDB synopsis for the episode is rather ominous.

"As Michael puts a spell on Cordelia he continues toward world annihilation, starting with the witches and warlocks. Queenie and Zoe look for answers with the Voodoo Queen. Madison takes an unexpected trip to an old friend’s house."

In the last episode, Michael Langdon was lost and alone, trying to figure out his path. He has found new allies, however, and it looks like his power is growing once again, bridging the gap between the child we saw in earlier episodes and the all-powerful long-haired agent of The Cooperative we met at the beginning of the season.

FX has also released the preview trailer for the episode, which you can watch here for even more hints of what’s to come:

From the trailer, it seems we might finally get some more answers on The Cooperative. This secret group hasn’t really been addressed since the show left Outpost Three in the third episode. We might finally learn what The Cooperative is and how it has aided Michael on his path to starting the apocalypse. With so little time left in this season, we hope that we will see how everything ties together soon.

The trailer also features some dramatic imagery of the Coven witches. We see Cordelia struggling, presumably under the spell Langdon has put her under. While it temporarily seemed as though she had the upper hand in this struggle, it doesn’t seem like that’s true anymore, and the fate of the world is at stake

With only two more episodes left, we imagine that “Fire and Reign” will be intense, and we are ready to see how this season surprises us with more shocks and twists.
