Charmed preview: Sisters disagree with royal Elders

Mel, Maggie and Macy will go head-to-head with the Elders in this week’s Charmed episode, in an attempt to save a human soul from a demon possession.

The next episode of the new reboot, entitled “Exorcise Your Demons,” will follow the Charmed ones as they continue to detain the Harbinger of Hell after they trapped the demon last week. The sisters will finally meet one of the Elders, who are magical spirits on the side of good, when one of them turns up to vanquish the demon. However, the preview for the episode implies that the sisters may have reservations about the Elders decision.

Last week, it was revealed that the Harbinger of Hell was possessing Angela, a student at Maggie’s university. But after feeding on the blood of virgins, the demon’s figure became less and less human and more like an evil spirit, with white skin and dark features. This week’s episode will most probably focus on the Elders and the Charmed ones trying to figure out how to kill the demon. However, the characters might not all have the same priorities.

In the preview, the sisters ask the Elder how they can save Angela from the demon’s possession, but the Elder reveals that the human can’t be saved. The Elders will want to vanquish the demon in this week’s episode, however, Mel is shown in the preview arguing with their decision, persuading them to reconsider. Mel is a character who won’t be backing down easily and will use her stubbornness to try and convince the Elders that Angela’s soul is still trapped inside the demon, and that she is worth saving.

The Elders haven’t made an appearance on the show yet, but we can assume that they are similar to angels in that they are a forceful source of good, potentially being ruthless and objective in the process. With the arrival of Charity, the Elder sent to kill the Harbinger of Hell, we will get more insight into where the Elders stand and what there morals are. It could be that the Elders will have no problem sacrificing a human if it’s for the greater good, and this might cause friction between them and the sisters. Should the Charmed ones listen to the Elders advice or fight against their verdict?
