Aquaman has attitude and self-doubt in new teaser

Aquaman has released a new teaser titled “Attitude” in order to get us excited for the upcoming hero’s solo movie. And it is definitely filled with attitude, plus a little self-doubt.

When it comes to promo videos for Aquaman, we have seen the future King of Atlantis take on his brother, go on an epic quest, and even talk to the sea life. But what we haven’t seen much of is his self-doubt. And while the half-human, half-Atlantean hero might be full of attitude and sass, he is also someone who worries about failure.

In the newest 30 second clip, we get to once more see Jason Momoa’s Aquaman prove that he is filled with attitude and fierceness, but it is that moment of self-doubt that really called to us. He might be a Justice League hero who has helped save the world, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t doubt himself. He is half human after all.

As we hear Aquaman say in a voice-over on the video, “I am nobody, but I can save my home and the people that I love.” And while he may think he is a nobody, we know better (and so does Mera). Aquaman is more that just the son of an Atlantean queen and a human. He is also a hero and a future king.

Plus, on top of who he is as a person, watching the teaser shows us that here is a hero that has no problem getting down and dirty when it comes down to the fight. From jumping across roof tops to crashing into an older woman’s home, Aquaman is ready to take on whatever challenges come his way, even if he doesn’t see it. And of course he is going to do it with an attitude that makes us eager to see him in action.

This teaser may not have revealed a lot more in terms of what we can expect to see from Aquaman, but it did give us a further idea of who this hero is on a personal level. He might be a hero to the rest of us (and Mera), but in his eye that’s simply not who he is. Instead, it seems as if he only sees himself as a man who happens to have an affinity to the sea.
