As if today wasn’t sad enough for Potter fans, now Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is releasing a track from the show that reminds us of Godric’s Hollow.

James and Lily Potter died to protect their son and, on the anniversary of their death, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child decided to release a song from the Godric’s Hollow part of the show. You know, to make sure they dug the knife in a little deeper.

Spoilers for Harry Potter and the Cursed Child to follow.

When Harry has to travel using a time turner to help save his son, he realizes where they ended up quite quickly. Having been there with Hermione, he finds himself in Godric’s Hollow. This time, on the night his parents are murdered by Lord Voldemort.

In this song, we can see the creation of Halloween at Godric’s Hollow. The residents are putting out their pumpkins, unknowing of what is to come that night.

As if it wasn’t bad enough remembering what happened to James and Lily on that night, now we have a beautiful Imogen Heap song to go along with it so we can cry. The show does a beautiful job showing the grief Harry has held his entire life over the death of his parents and this scene, in particular, is hard to watch.

Harry Potter loved his parents most of all and the real tragedy was that he didn’t get to know them in the way he wanted to. So thanks for torturing us on Halloween, Cursed Child.

Next. All Harry Potter wanted out of life was to have a family. dark

Have a listen, get your tissues, and remember James and Lily Potter for the amazing characters they were! If only J.K Rowling would give us a series that shows their lives (we want it, Joanne. Please give it to us).
