Wizarding World Weekly Round-Up: New Fantastic Beasts trailers & theories, Harry Potter LEGO releases, Voldemort earns a lifetime achievement and more
By Callum Gunn
It’s been another busy week for the Wizarding World as we look back at all of the events that occurred in Fantastic Beasts, Harry Potter and more.
Unsurprisingly Fantastic Beasts dominated much of the Wizarding World news. With the next installment of the franchise due for release within weeks, announcements are being made almost on a daily basis.
However, there was still plenty of exciting news coming from other areas of the Wizarding World. From casting announcements to Harry Potter products and lifetime achievement awards, let’s take a look back at everything that went on.
Fantastic Beasts trailers & theories
New Fantastic Beasts trailers and theories have been emerging throughout the week. Specifically, a new TV spot for Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald emerged showing us the details of Grindelwald’s plan. J.K. Rowling herself featured in the clip explaining Grindelwald as well.
Theories have since emerged involving both Queenie and Severus Snape. Queenie has now been theorized as the one to betray everyone and join Grindelwald’s Army, while Snape’s grandparents have been theorized to be revealed in Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald.
Both Jude Law and Eddie Redmayne appeared on The Graham Norton Show to discuss Fantastic Beasts. Law ended up telling everyone how he prepared for the role which involved studying Picasso and learning sleight of hand magic. Redmayne let everyone know that he had no idea what to do with his wand when he was presented with it for the very first time.
The question of if Credence Barebone would return for Fantastic Beasts 3 or not was also learned this week.
Harry Potter announcements
Moving back to the world of Harry Potter and despite Fantastic Beasts being the center of attention, the story that started it all has still been making headlines this week.

The biggest announcement came from LEGO, who revealed first look images of the upcoming Harry Potter Diagon Alley set.
The Great American Read came to end this week. The PBS event had been ongoing for months, with hundred’s of thousands of people voting what their favorite book of all time was. Harry Potter didn’t win but it came in a very respectable 3rd.
And lastly, the cast and crew of Harry Potter had been remembering their fondest moments of Alan Rickman. Something which brought a tear to your eye.

There was plenty of other news that came out during the week. We also dived into a few ideas that we had as well, such as the greatest advice Dumbledore ever gave to Harry Potter. I can’t share it all here though so feel free to check out our homepage and browse through our stories.
