Charmed preview: Halloween episode set to spook

The Charmed ones must face the Harbinger of Hell in this week’s episode, and the preview shows the sisters lost in dark, creepy woods.

The preview for this week’s episode of Charmed, entitled “Sweet Tooth,” shows Harry revealing to the trio of witch sisters that they must vanquish a rather unhinged evil spirit called The Harbinger of Hell. It could be that the sisters have a better understanding of teamwork after last week’s constant disagreements, and are no longer trying to hide from their destiny. The middle sister, Mel, wants to immediately “get out there and find it.” Will Macy and Maggie match Mel’s motivation and excitement, and be up for walking straight into a demon fight?

The evil spirit in the trailer appears to be stereotypically spooky, with long black hair, a cracked pale face, and dark features. The Harbinger of Hell could be mistaken as a Halloween costume by the mortals in this episode as the Charmed ones continue to keep their destiny as witches a secret. Aside from the creepy form of the demon, dubbing it a Harbinger suggests this encounter is only the supporting act for the bigger end game and the reveal of The Source of All Evil. If the demon is the Harbinger of Hell, does that mean Hell is approaching and will be opened or released onto Earth, or is “Hell” more of a metaphor to mean more dark enemies will be coming up against the sisters in the near future?

Whatever the demon of the week foreshadows, our heroes will be up against it as the preview shows all three sisters running around in a very eerie and foggy forest. Mel, Maggie, and Macy are panic-stricken as they each attempt to swerve trees to escape from the demon. As the Charmed ones are stronger when they are together, it could be that the Harbinger of Hell deliberately separates the group to weaken them.

It would be a smart move to attack each of the witches individually as the girls are still getting to grips with their powers. The preview already reveals that Macy will get cornered by the demon, as the thing sneaks up on her from above, hanging upside down behind her. Will the Halloween episode be good enough to frighten us?
