Starbucks introduces its new haunting Halloween Witch’s Brew Frappuccino

Starbucks has unveiled its newest Halloween Frappuccino creation, the Witch’s Brew. And based off the drink’s description, it’s a perfect potion.

It’s a pinch of this and a dash of that according to Starbucks as they unveil their newest Halloween-ready Frappuccino. The Witch’s Brew is this year’s answer to the Franken Frappuccino, the Frappula and, of course, last year’s offering, the Zombie Frappuccino.

The Witch’s Brew hits menus starting on Oct. 25 and is a limited edition drink that will remain in stores while supplies last. And considering Starbucks is using a bit of toad’s breath and bat warts to fuel this wicked beverage, we can’t imagine it lasting long.

This year’s Halloween concoction consists of “a purple blend of ‘toad’s breath’ and orange crème Frappuccino and a swirl of green ‘bat warts’ (made with chia seeds). A topping of vanilla whipped cream and dusting of green ‘lizard scale’ powder finishes the beverage.” This blending of ingredients gives us a Frappuccino that is a vibrant purple color with chia seeds blended throughout and a fun green topping for extra flair.

And while the Witch’s Brew certainly lives up to its name based on this description, it is actually a Halloween party in a cup. A member of the Starbucks’ development team, Jennica Robinson explained that the newest Frappuccino “gets a little bit of juicy-ness from the orange flavor.”

Thanks to the orange crème base of this particular Frappuccino, we think this year’s Halloween offering might just be a hit. And even if the drink is not a delightful orange color, but rather a bold purple, we still think the Witch’s Brew might be a win for Starbucks.

Every year since 2014, the company has taken the time to celebrate the magic of Halloween with a new and innovative Frappuccino offering. And after starting with the Franken Frappuccino, which was a hit, they have continued to bring customers something fun and different each year since.

While Starbucks may have given us something more ghastly last year thanks to the Zombie Frappuccino, this year’s Witch’s Brew is a much more party-ready drink that is bubbly and vibrant. And we are certainly thankful for that, as we could definitely use a vibrant and bubbly treat this season.
